After their success with the Google-branded Nexus 7, it’s hard for ASUS not to realize the appeal of low cost/high performance devices to the market. The upcoming $159 Memo Pad 7 is proof of this, but that isn’t all that ASUS is up to. It’s been expected for a while that they would release a big brother to the budget 7-incher, and it looks like it will be in the form of the ASUS Memo Pad 10. The ASUS Memo Pad 10 will launch with some respectable specs, such as a 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 screen, 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core processor, a gig of RAM, and 16Gb of internal storage.

Curious as to what it will look like? Thanks to some leaked press shots from Tablets Magazine, we can get a preview of the device before it launches pretty soon. No word yet on when that release will actually be, but it’s widely expected that we’ll be seeing the ASUS Memo Pad 10 at this year’s Mobile World Congress along with its little brother, the Memo Pad 7.

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
