Cloudfone CloudPad 800w Has 32GB Storage and is First Local Tablet Powered by Intel!

CloudPad 800W 1

It’s been a while since Cloudfone was in the headlines but it seems they’ve been prepping something very interesting while they were out of the limelight. The Cloudfone CloudPad 800W doesn’t look that much different from the wave of iPad Mini-esque Android tablets that have been hitting the market. However what sets it apart is that it’s powered by an Intel processor under the hood!

CloudPad 800w All Angles

Yep, the CloudPad 800w features a 2.0GHz dual core Intel Atom processor, which is certainly different from the norm. Other specs include a 7.85″ XGA screen, 1GB RAM and a whopping 32GB of internal storage. It also has dual cameras (5mp/2mp), WiFi, Bluetooth, a 4,600mAh battery and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Higher clocked dual core Intel Atom processors have sometimes scored well in benchmarks against lower clocked quad core devices with chips made by MediaTek, Rockchip and  Qualcomm, so it would be interesting to see compare the CloudPad 800w with quad core and octa core devices that are already out in the market. The 32GB internal storage is also very enticing and is probably the largest amount of on-board storage that’s been offered by any local tablet or smartphone.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on the Cloudfone CloudPad 800w, it’s set to retail for Php8,999 and will be available in white. No news yet when it will be released though. Hopefully, I can get my hands on a review unit before then.

  1. I have purchased a cloudpad 801TV unit last Feb 14th ’15 that has gone defective after 2 weeks of minimal usage. Bought this unit back to the seller in SM BF Cloudfone kiosk that was refused to be taken for servicing but was advised to go to SM Bacoor (service centre). I did what was told and gave the unit March 7th ’15 that was such an inconvenience for a customer. Its been weeks now and still don’t have the repaired unit. Confirming that this is a factory defect to get the motherboard replaced, it is such a horrific experience that I will need to wait for so long (longer than the time I actually used the unit) this displays absolute after sales dissatisfaction. I have managed to get a mobile number of the main office in Mandaluyong and was hoping to escalate this matter but I was ignored both on text message and unreachable by phone call. This has been a frustrating experience for me and an absolute disgrace for how you market yourselves in the market. From a customer point of view, this is a gift that I saved my hard earned money to make my 9 year old daughter happy which I have had the option of choosing your good product over others with the same price.
