Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth 2

Huawei recently announced a new tablet aimed at the budget segment. Aside from being a mouthful to say, the Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth 2 is a 7 inch tablet with a 1024 x 600 resolution screen, 1.2GHz quad core CPU, 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Those may sound like mediocre specs, but it does have the advantage of being capable of making calls and texts, which is a rarity among tablets.

Other specs include a 3mp rear camera and VGA front camera, micro SD slot for storage expansion, and up to HSPA+ connectivity. It also runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box with Emotion UI on top. Pricing for the MediaPad 7 Youth 2 hasn’t been officially announced yet, but it’s hard to imagine it being priced too high.

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
