Samsung has officially announced their newest entry to their lineup of tablets, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. The budget-minded tablet features a 7 inch WSVGA (600 x 1024) screen, 1.2GHz dual core processor, and 1GB RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will also come with 8GB of internal storage, which can further be expanded via micro SD.
The tablet will feature a 2mp rear-facing camera, but will not come with a front camera. I find that a little curious since it would make more sense to forgo the rear camera on a budget tablet and go with a front camera instead to facilitate video calls. Anyway, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and will be powered by a 3,600mAh battery.
Obviously, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is aimed at the budget market, which is why the specs are unremarkable. No pricing has been announced yet, but if the price is right, it would be awesome to grab one as a basic web browser or comic reader. Looking to grab the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite? Availability hasn’t been revealed yet, but it should start rolling out to Southeast Asia sometime in February.
