Cherry Mobile Skyfire 2.0 Benchmarks and Camera Samples

The Skyfire 2.0 is Cherry Mobile’s fourth quad core device to hit retailer shelves in a market where there are only 6 total quad core devices to choose from. That’s quite a feat, but there are still a few concerns that the older Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 SoC might not necessarily be as fast as other quad core devices from Cherry Mobile’s competitors. Well, I managed to get myself some benchmark results from Cherry Angel, a dealer and past tipster, who was kind enough to let me share it with you guys.

Antutu Score and System Information

   

While the Cherry Mobile Skyfire 2.0’s SoC might not necessarily be the best available quad core solution among locally branded smartphones, we’re looking at a device that can still hold its own against the quad core competition. It manages to score 11,014 on Antutu, which is pretty respectable considering the more expensive A919i Duo with its MT6589 SoC scored 12,377 in my review. I’m pretty sure the lower resolution of the Skyfire 2.0 compared to the A919i Duo (qHD vs HD) is one factor that helps the Skyfire 2.0 achieve favorable scores in Antutu.

Camera Samples

Another aspect that is important to consumers when buying a smartphone is how well the camera performs. Cherry Angel also shared a couple of shots from the Skyfire 2.0’s 8mp autofocus shooter. While a couple of shots aren’t anything to go by, the Skyfire 2.0 is shaping up to be a pretty decent shooter.

 

The Cherry Mobile Skyfire 2.0 seems to be a much more balanced phone compared to the Omega HD when it comes to specs. The Omega HD is an imaging and entertainment-centric device that focuses on its screen and above average camera performance, but is severely underpowered. The Skyfire 2.0 on the other hand has a better SoC coupled with a lower resolution, but still decent  screen, resulting in performance that is better rounded. I hope you found these helpful.
