Chico Mobile is the Newest Local Smartphone Brand to Challenge for Market Share

As saturated the Philippine smartphone market is, it seems that some brands think there’s always room for more. That must be the thinking behind Chico Mobile, the newest local smartphone brand to take a stab at the challenging Philippine budget smartphone market.

Currently, there’s not a lot known about Chico Mobile. They seem to have an association with pre-existing budget brand ZH&K Mobile if their last Christmas party is any indication. So far, they only have a couple of entry-level offerings.

Chico Mobile Strom 86DTV

The Strom 86DTV is the smaller of Chico Mobile’s two new phones. It packs a 5 inch HD screen, quad core processor, and a built-in DTV tuner for free crystal-clear programming you can access without having to pay for data.

Unfortunately, it only comes with a paltry 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The 2mp cameras on the front and back of the Strom 86DTV are also pretty underwhelming, even for a budget phone.

Chico Mobile Strom 87DTV

If you’re looking for a bigger budget smartphone with built-in DTV, the Strom 87DTV might be more to your liking. It packs a larger 5.5 inch HD screen, quad core processor, and a 2,600mAh battery pack. It packs double the RAM at 1GB but retains just 8GB of internal storage.
