LG Optimus G Pro To Make Its Philippine Debut on July 25

LG Optimus G Pro Philippines Launch

It’s taken its sweet time, but it looks like an LG Optimus G Pro Philippine launch is pretty imminent. In case you’ve been missing it, LG Electronics Philippines has been teasing the upcoming launch of the Optimus G Pro for the last few days now. The official launch will happen on July 25 and LG is inviting fans to tweet about the launch using the hashtag #LGOptimusGProPH for a chance to win one and become one of the first to own this monster of a phablet.

What’s so great about it? It features a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS Plus display that gives you 20% more screen real estate compared to 5 inchers without dropping below 400ppi. This, coupled with the QSlide feature that was carried over and enhanced from the original Optimus G, will make multitasking a breeze. The processing power will come from a 1.7GHz quad core Snapdragon 600 processor, which provides a 30% performance boost over the S4 Pro Krait found in the Optimus G. It will also come with 2Gb of RAM, 32Gb of built-in storage, a 13mp autofocus camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Optimus UI out of the box.

The LG Optimus G Pro marks the first time the Korean company has ever come out with a smartphone measuring more than 5 inches. It even comes with some neat features aside from the usual technical specs, my favorite of which is the IR blaster that will allow the Optimus G Pro to double as a remote control for your TV, home audio system, or heck, even your air conditioner. No news on what it will retail for yet, but you can keep yourself updated by following their Facebook page here.

About The Author

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
