Lumia 535 is Microsoft’s First Non-Nokia Windows Phone!

Microsoft Lumia 535

It was inevitable, but it just feels too soon. Now that Microsoft has acquired Nokia’s mobile phone division, among other things, they’ve finally dropped the Nokia branding and have officially released their newest non-Nokia Lumia, the Microsoft Lumia 535! And to be honest, it doesn’t seem to be all that bad!

The Lumia 5xx series has always served as the entry point for aspiring Lumia and Windows Phone owners. This time though, the Microsoft Lumia 535 breaks its companies own barriers by coming with a 5 inch screen for a change. The qHD 540 x 960 resolution isn’t the best, but it fits today’s large screen trend. Will we still see a sub-5 inch Lumia handset? Probably not.

Other specs include a 1.2GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage and 3G connectivity. And like all Lumias before it, the Microsoft Lumia 535 will come in several color options: green, cyan, orange, black and white. While there’s no news yet on local availability, this one’s targeted at emerging markets and pricing right now is estimated to be at $140 or about Php6,100+.
