After the success of the aluminum-clad Iceberg, it appears that the pioneering local phone brand has a follow-up in the works. The screen size hasn’t been revealed, but according to the source, it won’t be as large as the MyPhone Iceberg. It will also feature Gorilla Glass 2 protection, dual SIM functionality and will support 3G/HSPA+ speeds.

If I were to take a guess, it will probably be powered by a quad core processor from the MediaTek MT6589 family. This is because it’s the only quad core chipset available on local smartphones that supports HSPA+ speeds (someone please correct me if I’m wrong). Whether it will be the MT6589M, MT6589 or MT6589T is anyone’s guess though.

No news as to when it will launch, but from the leaked image, it also looks like this upcoming phone will launch with a range of back cases. Stay tuned for more details as soon as they become available. In the meantime, how about a guessing game? What do you think MyPhone will call it? I vote for Iceberg Mini 🙂

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.

Ganda ng design ng Iceberg nila, very elegant. medyo may kamahalan nga lang unlike sa cherry mobile phone.
