Thinner and thinner smartphones seems to be a really good selling point these days as manufacturers continue to battle it out on this spec front. BBK Vivo, a popular Chinese smartphone maker looks to hit hard with the Vivo X3L, which is poised to be the thinnest LTE smartphone at launch. The Vivo X3L will measure just 6.75mm thin when it comes out!
The specs are a bit of mid-high end, combining a 5 inch HD display, 1.2GHz processor, 2GB RAM and an 8mp F2.0 main camera. It isn’t specified which processor will be used, or even if it will be a dual core or quad core solution, but it’s most likely going to be a Qualcomm chip.
While its 6.75mm thinness will indeed make it the world’s thinnest LTE smartphone, the title of the thinnest smartphone actually goes to the Gionee Elife S5.5, which measures a jaw-dropping 5.5mm thin, hence the name.
Update: A number of readers have pointed out that there are already a number of other LTE smartphones that are thinner than the Vivo X3L. Such phones include the Huawei Ascend P7 and the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, which are both 6.5mm thin.
