MyPhone has been a tear on Facebook lately, releasing teaser after teaser to promote their upcoming phone. While they’ve only been confirming the features of the MyPhone Vortex, we now have what everyone’s been waiting for: the official MyPhone Vortex specs and SRP! There’s are even some live images of the phone itself to go along with this news!
Here’s an image of the black variant of the MyPhone Vortex that’s been circulating the interwebz. It has been speculated in the past few days that it will be the same OEM device as the Micromax Canvas 4 and this has been confirmed by a MyPhone insider that NoypiGeeks.com has a contact with (btw, did you guys know I also write for NoypiGeeks?) Speaking of NoypiGeeks, the MyPhone insider also gave them exclusive pics of the white variant of the MyPhone Vortex.
Now that all the rumors have been confirmed, we now know the MyPhone Vortex specs by just basing them on the Micromax Canvas 4. The Vortex will sport a 5″ HD IPS display, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It will also feature a 13mp BSI camera along with a secondary 5mp camera for selfies.
Of course, it’s not just about the hardware specs as MyPhone has been keen on showing off the Vortex’s software features on all of their teasers as well. The MyPhone Vortex will support 16 continuous shots in its camera app, as well as multi-video support, which allows you to play a movie and have it float on the screen regardless of what you are doing, whether you are composing a text message or browsing the web. Pretty neat since these are features you would expect on a phone that costs twice as much as the Vortex does.
Speaking of price, NoypiGeeks’ source has revealed that the MyPhone Vortex will be priced at Php12,388. It might be a tad expensive – heck, it even costs more than the MyPhone Iceberg – but the aluminum frame and brushed metal finish are probably enough to justify the price when it comes out. Still, that puts it out of reach of a lot of budget-conscious Pinoys.
Regardless, the MyPhone Vortex is quite the compelling smartphone and we’re now seeing locally-branded smartphones with internal storage capacities in excess of 4GB become the norm. The Vortex also gets my vote for being the most premium-looking locally-branded flagship in the market. Do you guys agree? Let me know in the comments
