In case you missed it, Samsung reportedly has 4 tablets planned for early 2014. One of them is the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, a behemoth of a tablet that’s set to inherit the S-Pen functionality of the Galaxy Note line while being powered by top of the line internals. While not much is known yet about the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, SamMobile apparently has information on what we’ll actually find inside the gargantuan high end tablet.
According to SamMobile, the Note Pro 12.2 will have a 2.3GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 CPU under the hood, coupled with an Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB RAM. It will also sport an 8mp shooter on the back and a 2.1mp shooter in front. As for wireless connectivity options, there will be two variants. The SM-P900 variant will be WiFi-only while the SM-P905 will support cellular connectivity and up to 4G/LTE data.
The specs are certainly high end, although the newest batch of SoCs are set to launch early this year, meaning the Note Pro 12.2 won’t exactly be top-of-the-line for very long. Still, the performance should be very respectable, which is evident by the early Antutu scores it has achieved using experimental software. 34,261 is certainly impressive when you consider that it narrowly edges out the Note 3, which is the current Antutu benchmark leader.
According to SamMobile’s sources, we won’t see the Note Pro 12.2 until MWC, which is scheduled for February 24 to 27 in Barcelona. There’s also a good chance Samsung will decide to unveil this device at one of their Unpacked events. Either way, it looks like we’re going to find out pretty soon just how many people think a 12 inch tablet is a good idea.
