Xiaomi Mi4i Now Available Internationally for $238

Xiaomi Mi4i

Xiaomi is one of the fastest rising international smartphone makers, generating a lot of hype for their products in Asia and the rest of the world. One of their latest smartphones, the budget-friendly Xiaomi Mi4i flagship was initially only available in India, and if you wanted it outside their territory, it would cost you roughly $300 plus shipping. Well now, the Mi 4i  can be had for just $238 via international stores, including shipping charges. And if you use the “MI4I” promo code with Gearbest, you can shave a few dollars off and get it for just $232.89!

The Xiaomi Mi4i has a youthful appeal as it comes in a range of colored plastic shells, mimicking the look and feel of Apple’s iPhone 5c. Beneath that plastic though beats a modestly powerful 64-bit 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with an Adreno 405 GPU that can handle just about any app or game you can throw at it. And thanks to the 5 inch Full HD IPS OGS display, which Xiaomi sources from either Sharp or JDI, a full range of media can be enjoyed, whether you’re watching your favorite movie, browsing through your gallery, or simply reading text while browsing the web.

Camera and Dual Tone Flash

Those who like to focus on the imaging capabilities of their phones should be satisfied by the Xiaomi Mi4i. The 13mp camera features a 5-element lens and f/2.0 aperture, not to mention a dual tone flash that automatically adjusts itself according to your lighting condition. Whereas it can be hit or miss with other cameras in low-light, the Mi4i’s camera with get it right most of the time. The front camera is no slouch either. It takes 5mp resolution shots and likewise features a 5-element lens and an even better f/1.8 aperture for better selfies in low light, even without a flash.

Powering the hardware is Android 5.0 Lollipop with Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI running on top. Unlike some of the bloated custom software that smartphone manufacturers like to install on their phones (here’s looking at you, Samsung), much of MIUI’s customizations are quite useful. Sure, it does away with the app drawer and keeps all your apps and widgets in the homescreens, but there is a ton of stuff you can do to tweak the phone and let it look, feel, and operate the way you want it to.

Front and Back

As popular as Xiaomi is, the Philippine market has typically been one of the last territories to get their hands on their products. If you’re not looking to wait, online stores like Gearbest are a great way of getting your Xiaomi fix right now. Just don’t forget the MI4I coupon code when buying it from their site!

About The Author

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
