As if the original Zenfone 5 wasn’t successful enough, ASUS Philippines has gone ahead and unveiled an even more affordable Zenfone variant with a 5 inch screen and Intel CPU for just Php5,595! The ASUS Zenfone 5 Lite as it is called supports a lower qHD resolution, 1GB RAM, and 8GB storage
Little else has been compromised from the Zenfone 5 to the Zenfone 5 Lite. You get the full set of wireless connectivity all the way up to HSPA+. You still get an 8mp rear-facing camera with LED flash, although the front camera drops to just VGA resolution versus the Zenfone’s 2mp front shooter. The battery is a surprising improvement though. You get a whopping 2,500mAh battery pack, which is pretty high considering this is just a 5 inch qHD screen we’re talking about.
At Php5,595 the ASUS Zenfone 5 Lite is an awesome deal, especially when you consider that it’s from an established international brand rather than a local one. Would you rather pick up the Zenfone 5 Lite or the original Zenfone 5 for about Php1k more?

The problem with ASUS is meeting demand with supply. The Zen5 is nowhere to be found!!! Just exactly how many units they released to the local market is the big question. Whatever it is, clearly it wasn’t enough.
True! I guess it’s a good problem for them to have. Hopefully, they’ll make up for it with their future releases so they can compete in the crowded budget segment here in the country.
