Legit movie streaming apps almost always cost money, but if you’re looking to get your Pinoy movie fix, you’ll be happy to know you don’t have to spend a single peso. Apparently, the Movie Club app that comes pre-installed with every Cherry Mobile smartphone lets you do just that! To think I’ve been missing out on it this long now!

Registering is easy-peasy. Just use either your Facebook account or email, enter your birthday, and start choosing movies to watch! They’re even organized by genre and have a summary to help you decide if it’s interesting enough to watch.

How does it earn money if it doesn’t ask for a single centavo? Through advertising, of course. That’s just one downside. Another is that you’re not getting HD quality. Still, for a legit app that lets you watch Filipino movies for free? It’s hard to complain.

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
