PLDT Home Fibr Now Comes with Ridiculously Powerful WiFi Router

I don’t often attend telco events because they get more than enough coverage already, but my most recent invite to a PLDT Home Fibr event was different from the ones I’ve attended in the past. It was a more intimate gathering of both online and traditional members of the media where we got to spend some actual hands on time with Home Fibr’s partner devices. The focus was on their partnership with D-Link to bring their ridiculously powerful AC 3200 Ultra Wifi Router to Fibr subscribers.

Once you start moving up to PLDT Home Fibr’s ridiculously fast speeds, the larger the files and content you’ll start to share across your home network and that dinky CD-R King router you got for less than Php500 isn’t going to cut it anymore. Nicknamed the “red chili crab” by D-Link’s customers in Singapore, the AC 3200 Ultra WiFi Router is a tri-band gigabit router that lets you to realize your PLDT Home Fibr connection’s full potential. In addition to supporting transfer speeds of up to 1,300Mbps across your network, it also automatically chooses and connects each device on the Fibr network to the best and cleared band available so you get the best connection every time.

Of course, if you don’t need that much power, you can still go for the AC 1900, which still packs enhanced performance with three antennas and amplifiers, not to mention a dual core processor.

Now, routers aren’t the only devices you can get with your PLDT Home Fibr plan. You can also get the PLDT Telpad, which has consistently gotten better over the years.

One particular device that caught my interest is the Fam Cam that lets you monitor your home and family while you’re away. You can view the feed from almost anywhere you have an internet connection, whether you’re using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or even smartphone.

They also offer a smart watch for your kids that not only helps you track them, but doubles as a cellphone for calls as well.

Wrapping up the devices geared towards peace of mind is the Fam Zone, which lets you filter out unwanted websites and content. You can even create tailor-fitted profiles for each individual member of your family, as well as guests.

Interestingly enough, PLDT also offers entertainment devices such as the Roku, which is a smart and convenient media box that lets you play content from your media library, as well as stream or access content from online. They also offer the Playstation 4 as an add on with some select plans.

Coming away from the event, I’m hoping to get on the 1899 Fibr Plan soon as it’s just a couple of hundred pesos more than my current 8Mbps plan while delivering speeds of up to 20Mbps. This should be soon as my last update with their hotline says it’s starting to get rolled out in my area!
