Cherry Mobile Alpha View: Windows Phone 8.1 on a 6 Inch HD Screen!

Cherry Mobile Alpha View

So far, it seems like Cherry Mobile is the only local smartphone brand that’s committed to the Windows Phone OS. Although it’s just one brand, if you were going to partner with any local brand, it would be Cherry Mobile with its ability to bring the best value for money than any other local brand. One great example of that is the Cherry Mobile Alpha View, which was just announced at MWC 2015. You’re getting Windows Phone 8.1 on a 6 inch HD IPS display at a price point that the local brand has promised to keep below 100 Euros (roughly Php4,500). Yep, folks. That’s a 6 inch HD Windows Phone for less than Php5k.

The Cherry Mobile Alpha View is driven by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 quad core processor paired with an Adreno 302 GPU. You’re also getting 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 2,600mAh battery, and dual SIM support. Those specs aren’t exactly awe-inspiring, but with Windows 8.1, they don’t need to be as it can be noticeably snappy versus Android running on the same specs.

The only missing important details of the Cherry Mobile Alpha View are an actual release date. However, now that the cat has been let out of the bag, it shouldn’t take too long until fans of the Windows Phone platform will get their hands on it.
