The Cherry Mobile Flare S5 was announced along a slew of other smartphones last night. Being a couple of hundred pesos pricier than the Flare 5, it comes with a few notable improvements over its sibling while ditching the AMOLED screen in favor of IPS. For one thing, the Flare S5 supports the B41 LTE band along with B1, B3, and B28 bands. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C port for faster charging!
Priced at just Php5,699, there aren’t a lot of other improvements vs the Flare 5. In fact design-wise, the Flare 5 is lighter, thinner, and aesthetically better-looking than the Flare S5. Still, those extra features are more than a good trade-off for what you lose out in design. And it’s not like the Cherry Mobile Flare S5 is an ugly phone. Far from it, actually.
