At Php3,999, the Cherry Mobile Flare is a great value, offering budget quad core performance at a price that doesn’t break the bank. However, there were still quite a few people who thought that the 512MB was a little lacking. Well, if the Flare 2.0’s limited RAM was a dealbreaker, then you’re going to love the newly released Cherry Mobile Flare 2X.
The Cherry Mobile Flare 2X is almost a mirror image of the Flare 2.0, specs-wise. It comes with a 4″ WVGA screen, 1.2GHz quad core processor and 4GB of internal storage, just like the Flare 2.0. However, rather than the measly 512MB of RAM, the Flare 2X comes with 1GB RAM for better multitasking.
Naturally, the Cherry Mobile Flare 2X comes with all the wireless connectivity options you would need: 3G/HSPA, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS with A-GPS. The unfortunate downside is that the battery capacity isn’t any better at 1,500mAh. Still, it’s quite the steal at Php4,499. If you aren’t that much of a power user or already own a power bank, the Flare 2X is a solid buy. Looking to grab one? Right now, it’s only available at SM North EDSA but should start rolling out nationwide in the coming days.
