Gionee CTRL V4S to Launch Locally with Quad Core CPU and 4.5 Inch Screen

Gionee CTRL V4S

Some of you may remember the Gionee Pioneer P4 that was launched locally a few months back. The specs were relatively decent, but the aestetics could have used some work. Thankfully, the Pioneer P4 has a spiritual successor of sorts in the form of the Gionee CTRL V4S, a smartphone that rocks nearly the same specs but looks miles better than the earlier launched P4.

The Gionee CTRL V4S sports a 4.5 inch capacitive LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 854 (FWVGA). As for the brains behind this beauty, the CTRL V4S is driven by a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek MT6582 processor, coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The 8mp rear-facing camera is probably the only upgraded spec on the V4S when compared to the Pioneer P4’s 5mp rear shooter. However, the rest of the specs are virtually the same.

The Gionee CTRL V4S retails for Php6,999, which is exactly the same SRP of the Pioneer P4 when it first reached our shores. Are the minor upgrades and prettier aesthetics worth keeping the retail price at Php6,999? Please be the judge and let me know in the comments 🙂

About The Author

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
