SKK Mobile Aura Lite

Entry level smartphones are becoming increasingly more affordable these days, although few come as capable as the newly announced SKK Mobile Aura Lite at its Php2,599 price point. For the money, you’re getting a 5 inch qHD screen, quad core processor, and 4GB of internal storage. You’ll no doubt be able to maximize the Aura Lite on commutes as well thanks to its 2,500mAh battery and support for 3G connectivity.

Of course, there are a few downsides, some of which are just potential. One potential problem? RAM. SKK Mobile hasn’t revealed just how much RAM the Aura Lite will be packing. 1GB RAM should be enough for an entry level phone such as this, but if it will only come with 512MB RAM, not only will multitasking be hampered, but you may find force-closing apps becoming a problem. Another problem is that it only runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, which is now 2 versions behind the most recent version of Android, which is Lollipop 5.1.

If the SKK Aura Lite manages to come with at least 1GB RAM then we may have a steal on our hands with this entry level bugger. My fingers are crossed.

Back when I started MobileTechPinoy in 2012, phablets weren't a thing yet. I enjoyed the stares I got from iPhone owners whenever I whipped out my Samsung Galaxy Note at the time. I'm much more budget-conscious these days though and am perfectly fine with using phones from any of our locally brands.
