Xolo Black Launched in India with Snapdragon 615 and Dual Cameras for Php9k

Xolo Black

It looks like the Snapdragon 615 is becoming the SoC of choice among Chinese ODMs for their midrange smartphones. The Xolo Black is one of the latest such smartphones to hit the market, albeit in India as a Flipkart exclusive. It has a 5.5 inch Full HD display with 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and LTE support. However, it’s killer feature is its dual camera setup on the back. In addition to the typical 13mp sensor, there’s also a 2mp sensor, allowing the Xolo Black to achieve focus in just 0.15 seconds!

By adding a secondary camera on the back, the Xolo Black lets you snap a photo now, then adjust the focus later, similar to a much more expensive Lytro camera. As if this wasn’t already something amateur smartphone photographers would appreciate, the Xolo Black also features a 5mp front camera with an LED flash so you can take selfies even in low light!

Although the Xolo Black is for the Indian market, there’s still a possibility we might see it come to Philippine shores under a different name. Personally, I’m not all that excited about the Snapdragon 615 since it compares poorly to its MediaTek counterpart. However, the Lytro capability of being able to refocus a shot after it’s been taken is particularly noteworthy, especially at its Php9k-equivalent price point.
