Sweet mother of Android tablets, the local phone brand did it again. The much-awaited Cherry Mobile Fusion Wave has just been announced and it’s priced at just Php7,499! For that price, you’re getting an Android tablet with an 8 inch screen powered by a 1.4GHz quad core Samsung Exynos processor and Mali 400 GPU. Pretty sweet!
The rest of the specs are quite respectable. You’re also getting 1Gb of RAM, which is the norm for Android devices these days, to go along with 8Gb of internal storage. Don’t use the Fusion Wave as a secondary camera though, as you’re only getting a 2mp fixed focus rear shooter, but the 2mp front-facing camera should be plenty enough for video calls on the tab. Then there’s Bluetooth, WiFi and HDMI, and it’s even USB OTG-ready! And it’s all powered by a 5100mAh battery, which should result in some decent battery life for a locally branded tablet.
There are no guarantees that the Cherry Mobile Fusion Wave will be a hit at Php7,499, but it certainly has a lot going for it. OTG-support is something that a lot of power users will appreciate, but Bluetooth should also draw a lot of interest, especially if it supports HID devices such as a mouse or keyboard. The 5,100mAh battery is also nice because I know of at least one other Exynos-powered tablet in the Philippine market. In comparison, that one has a 10.1 inch screen and a 5,600mAh battery. However, it only runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, not Jelly Bean 4.1 or 4.2.
No news yet when the Cherry Mobile Fusion Wave will hit the market. I’ll let you guys know as soon as the information comes my way.

Any idea if it’s IPS? Also, I thought this was going to be a 10.1 incher so I’m a bit disappointed especially after handling the Fire in a CM kiosk last week.
No detailed news yet on the screen, sorry 🙁
wow exynos and mali400??thats crazy samsung stuff
btw?whats the oem of this tablet?
No idea yet sir, sorry.
marami ba variants ang mali 400? do you think same gpu to with s3? kung ganun nako sarap sa laro to.
may dual and quad core variants ng Mali 400. No idea yet which variant yet of Exynos the Fusion Wave is using.
yan concern ko baka kasi ung dual core lang tong fusion wave pero so far with the antutu result parang quad siya eh :). at last a gaming tab from cherry mobile. By the way regarding the screen quality para raw medyo pixelated compare to fusion bolt pero performance syempre sobrang layo. anyways this is more than worth the price but still waiting for further actual reviews/feedbacks :).
bought this last week. great device for a budget tablet. definitely a must-buy!
