Windows Phone still has a lot of catching up to do before it catches up with iOS and Android, but there has been a fair amount of success within the platform. The Nokia Lumia 520 is one of them and in a follow up to the success that the entry level device has achieved, it appears that the now Microsoft-owned phone maker is about to release a more music-oriented version called the Lumia 525.
To be honest, there’s nothing that really sets it apart from the Lumia 520 in terms of design. Based on the leaked render, they seem to be almost alike in terms of appearance. However according to the leaked information, the Nokia Lumia 525 will come packaged with the Nokia Guru BH-121 Bluetooth headset, a Nokia-made accessory that was recently leaked by @evleaks. The inclusion of the Guru Bluetooth headset will likely make the Lumia 525 more expensive compared to the Lumia 520.
If you’re interested in the specs, the Nokia Lumia 525 is expected to sport a 4 inch IPS display with WVGA resolution (480 x 800), 1GHz dual core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. On the imaging side, there’s a 5mp autofocus shooter capable of 720p HD video recording, but no indication of a front camera to go along with it. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, and a micro USB 2.0 port. Powering the phone is a 1,450mAh battery.
It’s important to note that the specs were leaked out of China and should not be considered official yet. So if the Nokia 525 ends up being slightly different, try not to be too disappointed. Still, it’s already gone through the Chinese certification agency Tenaa, so the Chinese version should be at least based on those specs.
