It looks like it won’t be too long before Samsung releases a new Galaxy S5 variant. Just as it has done in the past with the S4, Samsung will be milking the Galaxy S5 brand for all its worth, and it looks like the first S5 variant will be the Galaxy S5 Zoom. According to a written leak from a presentation that took place in Poland, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom will be an update to its predecessor, the Galaxy S4 Zoom, featuring a better camera, updated internals, and a slimmer design.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom Specs Leak

The camera sensor will get bumped up to 20mp and will feature a new internal zoom mechanism. This will let it offer 10x optical zoom while actually making the device slimmer. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom is expected to feature a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED  1.6GHz quad core processor, 2GB RAM, and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

These specs actually conflict with a previous leak that pegged the Galaxy S5 Zoom as having a 1.3GHz hexa-core CPU and 1.5GHz RAM, but both could actually be correct since Samsung has a penchant for releasing slightly different versions of the same model, depending on the market.

Of course, there’s a strong possibility that this recent leak might not amount to anything at all. After all, it was just based off of something that some guy wrote on a piece of paper rather than something taken from a benchmark result. Still, it’s something to keep the rumor mongers going until its expected launch in May.
