Some of you may recall a whole batch of new Cherry Mobile phones being teased on brochure a few months ago. We’ve been seeing many of them come out in the past months, but there are still a few that have yet to be released. Among them is the Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0, a 5 inch phone with an Xperia-esque design. Well, it looks like its release is pretty imminent as Cherry Mobile SM North EDSA branch has started teasing the Titan 2.0 in a post on its Facebook page.
Not much is revealed in the new post except for the back of the device. We’ve already seen the front from a previous teaser where we saw the Titan 2.0 doubling as a power bank thanks to its OTG support. Now we see the back of the device, which is really smooth and bare save for the camera, flash, and Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 branding. Overall, it’s shaping up to be a very sleek phone.
The Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 may be a follow up to the original Titan that made its debut more than a year ago. However, the Titan 2.0 is definitely in a class of its own, not just in the specs department, but in the design as well. The original Titan was a pretty good looking for a local phone at the time, and the Titan 2.0 picks up where it left off, beating out even the Omega HD 2.0 when it comes to aesthetics.
We already know some of the specs thanks to the aforementioned brochure, which you can probably pick up from any Cherry Mobile kiosk these days. The Titan 2.0 will have a 5 inch HD IPS screen featuring an OGS (one-glass solution) construction. The smartphone will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It will also have a 12mp BSI camera with flash and a 5mp BSI front camera for decent selfies.
According to the brochure, the Titan 2.0 will be priced at Php8,999. While there’s no clear release date yet, Cherry Mobile SM North EDSA is where the local phone brand traditionally launches new units, with the phones slowly rolling out nationwide. Now that the SM North EDSA branch has started teasing the Titan 2.0, we could see it hit retailer shelves by as early as this weekend.
